I graduated with a BA Hons in English Literature/History of Ideas from Cardiff University, Wales, in 2000, then trained as a TESOL teacher and taught English in Continental Europe for two years before entering publishing in Bristol, England. For five years I worked as a reporter, sub and production editor with Institute of Physics Publishing Immediate Media/BBC Worldwide and the Environment Agency, where I rose to the role of editor. In 2008 I moved into financial services customer communications at AXA and qualified as a marketer.
