I graduated with a BA Hons in English Literature/History of Ideas from Cardiff University Wales in 2000. I trained as a TESOL teacher and taught English in Continental Europe for two years. Then went into publishing in Bristol, England, and for five years I worked as a reporter, sub and production editor in consumer and specialist technical magazines. In 2007 I became a writer and editor with the Environment Agency and in 2008 I moved into financial services communications at AXA – where I retrained as a marketer.
